Righteousness Is Immortality

“Behold the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a king shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.” Jeremiah 23:5-6. Jeremiah the prophet is giving a prophecy about the coming of our Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. But Jeremiah is given a name of the Lord in a very specific and spectacular way. He calls Jesus THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. This is interesting because this is representing Jesus as the One who carries Righteousness with him. In Hebrew, the word righteousness is translated to “justice”. It also means the quality of being right and the act of doing what is right, including acts of charity. 1 Corinthians 13. The entire 13th chapter of the Book of 1st Corinthians explains what charity is. The chapter goes in depth of how charity should be above all what we desire to do in the Body of Christ. People want spiritual gifts because they have a Savior Complex. They want people to eat out of their hands and then turn to God and say, “Look Father, they have come to me, to get to you”. But no, you can only get to the Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ and him alone. 1 Corinthians 13 tells us that all the knowledge and speaking in tongues and prophesies does not belong to us, (it belongs to the Holy Spirit) we only do these things in portions when the Lord blesses us with them. But the greatest work of all is charity. The more you give to others, the more you help others, and the more you share your gift with others, the more righteousness you will act upon others, leading them to Christ wholeheartedly. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6. Jesus gives a blessing to those who yearn and are in dire need for righteousness. Those who are in dire need to do what is right in the sight of the LORD and those who want to do right to others will be filled. But what are they being filled with? “(For righteousness is immortal.)” Wisdom of Solomon 1:15. King Solomon starts off his book of Wisdom with this profound statement. Why is righteousness immortal? Is it because The Lord Our Righteousness is The Lord Jesus Christ? Is it because the sun shines on the just and on the unjust? Is it because righteousness is the nature of our Father in Heaven? And if our Father in Heaven has eternal life, isn’t that a part of his nature? “For God created man to be immortal, and made him to be an image of his own eternity. Nevertheless through envy of the devil came death into the world: and they that do hold of his side do find it.” Wisdom of Solomon 2:23-24. So here King Solomon brings something to light that most people are unaware of. If God’s nature is everlasting life and Holiness, then that means when God breathed into the nostrils of the First Man (Genesis 2:7) He imparted literally eternal life into Adam. And if God said, “Let there be light!” (Genesis 1:3) then that means 🌞Adam was a walking sun beam roaming around the Garden of Eden. So, King Solomon lets us know that God created Man to live forever here on earth and made him to be an image of his very own eternity. So then why should we continue to sin, if our true nature is of like the God who created us, who lives forever? Isn’t a sin-less life Righteousness? “But the righteous live for evermore; their reward also is with the LORD, and the care of them is with YAHWEH. Therefore, shall they receive a glorious kingdom, and a beautiful crown from the Lord’s hand: for with his right hand shall he cover them, and with his arm shall he protect them.” Wisdom of Solomon 5:15-16. Those who yearn for righteousness will be filled with eternal life. The reward of eternal life can only come from THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. King Solomon says that those who live righteously will receive a Kingdom and a beautiful crown from the Lord’s hand! HOW INCREDIBLE IS THAT?! And to make it even better, they will be protected by the mighty arm of the Lord! HALLELUJAH!
